In my pursuit of knowledge and desire to up-skill, I have undertaken various simulated work experiences, exploring the various avenues that marketing could take me. You will find below a synopsis of those experiences. 

BOSTON CONSULTANCY GROUP: INTRODUCTION TO STRATEGY CONSULTING

Targeted skills: Brainstorming, creativity, critical thinking.
Activity outcomes: 

  • Learned how to think creatively by challenging the assumptions that guide today’s thinking.

  • Used effective brainstorm strategies to generate ideas to help a fictional luxury clothing company increase sales revenue.

NEW SOUTH WALES GOVERNMENT: MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

Targeted skills: Communication, planning, research, strategy, writing.
Activity outcomes: 

  • Developed a communication plan for an advertising campaign.

  • Wrote a newsletter for staff at an agency.

CITY OF MORETON BAY: CAREERS IN TOURISM EVENT OPERATIONS

Targeted skills: Administrative skills, communication, organisation, instruction comprehension, data analysis.
Activity outcomes: 

  • Learned how to structure effective communications.

  • Gained an understanding of the purpose of a Run Sheet and how to develop one.
